The Parker …..Palm Springs

Walking in to the Parker Hotel in Palm Springs is kind of like taking a trip and being transported back to the birthplace of 70’s glamour….Towering, unapologetic orange doors greet you at the entrance, tall ceilings let an abundance of natural light in, bursts of colour against a forgiving white back drop are endless, coloured glass, tactile textiles, shag pile rugs, opulent marble bars, a dimly lit piano bar…..take me back to where it all began……

Palm Springs itself seems to be caught in a comfortable time warp, where the heat makes the days seem motionless….palm trees appear in the middle of a desert………an old man with brycleem hair and aviator sunglasses swans past…..all is beautiful and fine in a place where time stands still…..

Jonathan Adler remodelled the hotel in 2004 and the elegant legacy of a bygone era is retained in every wall …everybody should have a piece of The Parker to take home with them…

Adler’s beautiful ceramics adorn the hotel….
